MOUNTAIN SUN (2018)
Ways to Go
Here I sit…and then I look around for the light on me now…
Not a lot I know… ah but what I found seems to fight a fever
And it may be what you hear.. But at least I’m holding ground
With a raven smile….and an open hand gonna hold me true
Then I make my way… across the land that’s runnin old and new
And it may be all you feel…At least I’m moving round
And I….got a ways to go…
Till I come a find…A place I know….
In a cabin up high.. they come around just to move with the music
But for all you try …you never really get to come and pick and choose it
And there’s nothing you can do..‘cause it’s only good for now
And I …got a ways to go
Looking for the signs …where the sun lay low…
And when I pull away …don’t want to feel like I nearly won
So I turn my head… shield my face from the sinkin sun
And there’s nothing you can say…‘cause it’s all been said before…
And I …got a ways to go….Looking for the signs …where the sun lay low…shine a light on me…from a place I wanna be…
We‘re all just chasin rainbows..to the dark sea..till we all can see
Woman’s Gotta Groove
I’m gonna tell you what you need to know
Only one thing gonna move your soul
Woman’s gotta groove it, this I know
Some folks tell you that they know what’s best
They ain’t different than all the rest
Woman’s gotta groove it,
Woman’s gotta groove it
Woman’s gotta groove it,
All night long
They say that love makes the world go round
My head’s spinning gonna fall to the ground
Woman’s gotta groove it,
All my day
Woman’s gotta groove
This is what I say
You see I was lost in the angry sea
Woman come in to rescue me
Woman’s gotta groove it,
Woman’s gotta groove it
Mama Mama what a heavenly sight
I wanna a groove with you every night
Woman’s gotta groove it,
Woman’s gotta groove it
Woman’s gotta groove it
Woman’s gotta groove it
Trumansburg
I leave my inspiration on the frozen ground...to where it all began
And I see my old my reflection in the things I found...to bring it back again
And in my hour darkness I remember you
Over the back roads …into the night
Believe my satisfaction will coming true…in my mind
And soon we look upon the days of summertime…like waitin on a friend
and the path we dig will go away before our time…but it’s comin back again
And you see me sad and lonely but I’m over you
Onto the back roads …into the night
And it seems like all the places we been going to…in my mind
Bridge: And in the sun we all will gather round
And all the lonely days will soon be dying down
oh dying down
And all my tracks will slowly fall away from you
Over the back roads…into the night
and you see my independence will be coming through…under the light
On the Road
Even on the high side … darkness come
With my head above the ground
Gonna leave here… on the road to where I’m bound
I been feelin… high and low
I been lyin over the sea
And all the time I’m waitin…for love to roll on me
Waiting for the road
On the road again
I seen lightning…on the run
I seen fires in the sky
Oh on the way home…waning love don’t pass me by
Leave it for the road
On the road again
With the highs and the lows
Of my faceless friend
Far beyond the hill
We’ve been standing still
Waitin for the sound
Spinnin all around ….spinning round ….
Got you spilling me down the road
On the road again
With the highs and the lows
Of my faceless friend
Rising Tide
Lay my head on your pillow before I go away
For I long to see you…every night and day
In the light of the evening….the moon is shinin down
I see you lyin on the pines….with our love coming round
With the evening arms come reaching…there’s a chill up in the air
And I remember you looking at me..with ribbons in your hair
Every day seemed like Sunday…and I was young again
We’d sit and watch the summertime fall…with the winter movin in
Now all the skies are golden
They’re all that’s kept me here
And I’ll be singing all day long …
But you’re the song I hear
Midnight waves are approachin…let em fall on me
Cause I’m the risin tide and you’re the deep blue sea
Mountain Man
All the sinners spend their time…stealin signs from above
Waiting for the wheels to turn…the uncertainty of love
Come and be my one true love… show me all you know
Pull me from the movin train …’fore the hurricanes-a-blow
When I’m lost I’ll try again..I’m a rider on the mountain man
Waiting for my bones to break…for my hands to fold
Seein colors of the sun…turning brown red and gold
But I try …the best I can…I’m a rider on the mountain man
Bridge: Wait for the sunshine
And all that golden sound
And all the light…and all the signs
They feel a long way down…I’m feelin down
Gonna make my livin from a hole under the ground
I’ll raise my shovel high till the darkness come around
But I’ll try to understand…I’m a rider on the mountain man…
Ah but now I’m gonna take my time… crawling through the mud
seven seasons on the hills of the high ground to the flood
Pretty soon I’m gonna settle down with the blind mountain sun
Take another look around...’fore the long dealing’s done
All for now.. I’ll make my stand…
Then I’ll fly away.. to the promise land…I’m a rider on the mountain man
Blame it on the Rain
I kind of worry… to myself
Like a hammer… to my health
And I’m waiting for a change…or something else..something else
And I’m waking up… in my old bed
I see a photograph.. above my head
I may be looking good.. but feeling dead… good and dead
Can we bring it back together..when all the storms a come
And leave behind the traces.. of the work we done
Blame it on the rain
Blam it on the sun
Take a loaded deal… and a broken crown
A rollin wheel… when you’re coming down
And I’m singing for the good… and the truth I found
Can we bring it back together…when all that seem to be
Is playing on the silver line that’s so alluded me
Blame it on the rain
Blame it on the rain
Blame it on the sea
Blame it on the rain
Blame it on the rain
Blame it on me
Blame it on me
Come the Morning
Take a long last look in the morning…I leave here with the sun
Love like me don’t come along…remember me when I’m gone
Pay no heed to the darkness… let the low light call my name
Today I feel the good times.…tomorrow I feel the pain
Aint it all….a long way back...But maybe I’m to blame …
In the morning…in the morning…It’ll be all the same
Lay my head in the midnight…Pull the covers over my eyes
I got no time for the singing …I leave here before you rise
I may not tread so lightly… I take what I can find
In all that lies before me now…the less I leave behind
Stay up on the open line…before you send me down
In the morning……I don’t make a sound…
Roll me out of the window now cause I’m as good as gone
In the morning…oh the morning… I’ll be moving on…moving on…
Torn in Tatters
And though I’m contemplating the guilt that’s in my head
Getting tired of waiting got a chance to run instead
I never meant to be here… must have lost my way
Set a new direction… by the stars that gone astray
Seen the sign above you… oh I’m feelin green
Never meant to love you..you were only in my dream...
Where things aint what they seem
Seen the storms a comin..from the mountains way out west
You grew up in the country with a gun across your chest
Nothing really matters…when you’re swimming with the gold
I’m torn in tatters…and your lips they leave me cold
No one sees you when you’re old
Winter time’s approaching…oh you bring me down
You leave me guessin… when will love be coming round
Oh when I’ll be coming round
Though I’m contemplating the guilt that’s in my head
Getting tired of waiting gonna sing this song instead
Deeper Dawn
When I feel the low light fallin over me
I shade my head for nothing neath a fallen tree
For a while I spent my time on the frozen land …
For the sake of what’s to come now and for who I am
I went up north for a while…’cross the mission line
I got more to figure.. than in all my time
I left my love behind…for the deeper dawn
I’d rather fall behind an empty heart than to lead her on
Oh…. it’s fine to go away
And I believe this kind of love is pullin me away
There are tales of golden seas of crystal blue
There are hearts left forgotten for the sorry few
I want a wife and two kids just to ease my fears
But I’m still all alone after all these years…
Oh…. the sun is turning gray
And I believe this kind of love is pullin me away
I believe this kind of love is pullin me away
I believe this kind of love is pullin me away
Higher Than The Mountain
Come with me we’ll float up higher than the mountain
Come with me we’ll sink to the bottom of the sea
I had a girl like you… she rolled me in the shadows
Then she blew away… and left me all alone
Felt a little familiar
The girl I knew she ruled with the rhythm of the sunshine
A girl like you…she knows just how to please
She’s a one in a million…roses in the rain
She’s gonna leave you…coming back again…
I only wanted to be…I only wanted to be…
one in a million…(3x)
Come with me we’ll float up higher than the mountain
Up..higher than the mountain
Up..higher than the mountain
Up..higher than the mountain
Midnight Trail
On the Midnight Trail ….that’s where I was born
On a lonely night as cold as the day is long
Let me take you there…..
On the Midnight Trail
On the Midnight Trail …. That’s where I was sold
I was gone for so long got to call it home
Let me take you there…
On the Midnight Trail
Well I’m alright
If I get me through the night
Hope to see you all again…..
Well I’m alright
I made it through alright
now I see it all so clear…..
in the morning light….
On the Midnight Trail ….That’s where I was found
You never know when you find your love it’ll bring you ‘round
Let me take you there…..
Love is everywhere…..
On the Midnight Trail
When We Were Young
Oh when were was young…..we’re rising on
Over the hill…over the hill
Right and well on the way…and all we say
Sounds so real..sounds so real
Then we’re all on our own…full and grown
holdin so high…holding so high
Are you willin to come… and find the sun
are you willing to try…willing to try
When we were young…everything’s fine
when we were young…it’s all on the line
all of the time
Now we’re half of the same….with fire and flame
and roses in bloom …roses in bloom
Soon all the green will be gone…we’ll all be gone
try to find a way through…find a way through
When we were young…it’s never too old
When we were young…lo and behold
When we were young…but only for long
When we were young ….right or for wrong
The old and young…along for the ride
When you hold the sun……it’s harder to hide
Harder to hide…it’s harder to hide
Farm
Down on the Farm…That’s where I was born
A child of the foothills….in the thunder of the sun
When I’m on the farm…There’s nothing much I need
Just beatin on the drum…reading the book the old folks read
I’m goin down… Down on the farm
Call it the open wide now…call it a lonely day
Plenty of place to hide now… till the wind come blow it away
I’m goin down… Down on the farm
That’s the good life…that’s the good life for me
Hold no fortune or fame…only sunshine or rain…
That’s the good life…that’s the good life for me
That’s the good life…that’s the good life for me
That’s the good life…that’s the good life for me
That’s the good life…that’s the good life for me
Love is a terrible thing
Love is a terrible thing
And it always seems to bring
Long and lonely nights
Things aint feeling right
gonna sit and waste some time
gonna sip a little rain or shine
Then I’ll wait to chase it down
Till love……come back around
When I look…….out on the sky
See a train come rollin by
Weavin on by sea or land
Gonna make you understand
Then we walk……… where the sun lay low
see a high unfadin glow
you know it’s always hard to win
When you’re losin faith again
Oh no… you never know once you find it all
Slow down… oh it won’t be long…no it won’t be long
Till love is a beautiful thing
And the winter it turns to spring
And I’ll be runnin new…
When all’s in doubt…and I’m fading out…
I’m holdin on…holding out.. for you…just for you
Meet Again Someday
May we all be happy… far away from sad
May we all remember….good times that we had
And there ain’t no sunshine…..without a drop of rain
And we’ll all meet again here some day
Well I once was lonely…..Now I’ve company
And I once was blinded …. now my eyes can see
And my hope was fading …. ‘Til there came a ray
That we’ll all meet again here some day
May we all be happy…. Not so sad and low
May we all rejoice in….Good times that we’ve known
When the lord comes to greet you….let him lead the way
‘Cause we’ll all meet again here someday
The Spring time is coming….. Winter’s in the past
The warm sun is shining… cold ain’t gonna last
And I saw two children…come outside to play
Yeah we’ll all meet again here someday….
Let us all be happy…. Just like Ma and Dad
Let us all remember….Good times that we’ve had…
So when the lord comes to greet you….let him lead the way
and we’ll all meet again here someday. …..hay….
Yeah we’ll all meet again here someday….. hay
And we’ll all meet again here someday…..
